The Bolds are back for another hilarious tale!

This time, Teddington's wildest family have decided to stay at home and keep their heads down - it isn't always easy hiding tails and fur under clothes, and it's important not to raise suspicion amongst their human neighbours. But trouble soon comes skulking when a very sly fox starts making a big nuisance of himself. It's up to the Bolds to try and stop him - but the solution has them foxed...

This is our favourite Bolds book yet. At this stage in the series we are very familiar with the central characters and have a real fondness for this kind hearted family.

This book had some good twists and turns in the plot, with a long lost brother and even royalty! Without spoiling the book we were very surprised by the ending and thought it was very tastefully dealt with.

This was a real page turner packed with great illustrations and ‘funny’ jokes that you expect from this series of books.

We really liked this sequel to The Bolds. It's very similar in style and just as funny as the original. Although slightly older readers would probably enjoy it more for independent reading, my 5 year old (and I) loved sharing a couple of chapters each evening.

Thank you Toppsta for this fantastic win for my 6 year old, If you only knew how much my son adores The Bolds! This latest in the series is no exception.  I've been reading him a chapter a day at bedtime and he can't bear to wait until the next day, so he's been reading ahead the next one or two chapters on his own. This is a first! Most of his independent reading is animal fact books, so I thank Julian Clary for being the first author to make him fall in love with reading fiction.
I'd recommend The Bolds series to anyone with kids. They are a hoot and packed with jokes but also have some nice embedded messages about kindness and tolerance.  I read the first book aloud to my son when he was 4 and it made him hoot with laughter. The next two were read aloud to the Year 1 and 2 kids in primary school and now there's a bit of a Bolds craze going on among my son's friends and they've started to read it themselves.

I was a bit worried that my 6 year old would be overwhelmed with the thickness of this book (even with me doing the bulk of the reading!) but after he had a quick flick through and spotted that poo was mentioned and that there were loads of jokes, he was really excited about reading it together. He has even asked to read it during the day as well as at bedtime, so that means it must be good! The Bolds are a family of hyenas who live disguised as humans in Teddington. They work hard at ensuring no one knows they are hyenas but are shocked when their neighbours want to get pest control in to deal with foxes in the street. The Bolds and their other animals-living-as-humans friends hatch a plan to help a trapped fox escape, but when he and his friend come to recover at their house, he doesn't seem very grateful. What is his story and why is he so angry? Good fun chapter book, younger readers may need some help but will enjoy the toilet humour!

This is a brilliant book. I really liked the jokes which the Dad Bold keeps telling everyone. My Dad hated them though. It is a very funny book. I couldn't stop laughing.

What a book!  it's taken a little while to read this to my five year old but we have enjoyed it so much, we have laughed a lot!

The Bolds are a wonderful, caring, eccentric family. Hiding the animal nature to fit into the human world, and teaching other animals to do the same.  In this story the family jump to the rescue of a dastardly fox who is causing havoc.

The story had twists and turns which surprised us all.  My daughter can be a little sensitive but the great thing about this is that the tenser parts are lightened up by Mr Bolds desire to constantly crack jokes (although I did have to explain a number of the jokes!!).

Great illustrations helped bring the story to life.  We loved this book so much we have gone out and bought another from the series!

Having read a Bolds book before we were very excited to read this.

Read mostly by my 6 year old with a little adult help in places.

Very funny ... the jokes throughout are definitely the favourite parts.

My daughter wanted to read this book as she enjoyed the bold world book day book. She was especially delighted that an otter was one of the characters in this story. Overall she enjoyed the jokes the best.
