Love, love, love this book. Illustrations are beautiful and so is the story. A clever idea of how we can explain changing emotions and moods to children who are learning about theirs. Both my son and I enjoyed seeing where the 'bad' mood cloud and stick would end up next.

We thought this was quite a clever book. The bad mood character moves from person to person showing how easily a person's emotions change and how quickly a bad mood can dissipate when we look around us. We thought the story was funny and very apt for small children! My daughter's mood changes pretty quick, and it's nice to come across a story about emotions.

This is a great book and brought up lots of discussions with my little ones. The little girl is in a bad mood and so liked her brother with a stick, which then makes her mother in a bad mood, and the girl throws away the stick which makes a man in dungerees fall in some mud which makes him in a bad mood..... The story shows the bad mood as being a cloud over your head and explains how your actions can effect others. But also how it's ok to be in a bad mood sometimes and every one is at some point. We talked about it after reading the book and we lived lhe illustrations. Great book!!

I am not sure i would have picked this book up in the library but it is totally perfect for my little girl. She is 6 and it was a really good way to talk to her about her emotions. The book is about a little girl called Curly. When we meet her, she is in a bad mood. We know this because over her head is a big sad cloud. As Curly does things to make her change her mood, we see the cloud passed onto other characters in the story. Crucially, the book makes the point that the bad mood cloud is experienced by everyone and shows ways we can overcome it. The drawings are lovely and stylised and it really is a wee gem of a book. We really enjoyed reading it and talking about it afterwards.

We loved this book. Beautifully illustrated and written in a funny but simple way that helps the kids grasp the concept of changing emotions and how our mood can affect others.

Absolutely love this book! It’s become an instant favourite! The story is about a little girl named Curly and how she first encounters something that puts her in a bad mood then how it moves on to other people. A great conversation starter for talking about emotions and the illustrations are truly magical. We really love this book and urge anyone to give it a try. It’s fantastic and bursting with originality. 5 stars!

This book is great, it's about a girl called curly and she's in a bad mood. But something happens which makes her feel happy, so the mood moves on. This book is great for teaching and learning about emotions. My little boy enjoyed this.

First of all this book is beautifully illustrated. Secondly, the story is a great way to teach children about emotions and how to snap out of a bad mood. My family really enjoyed this book - and i am sure we will read it again and again.

We liked the illustrations because they are very colourful, and really helped explain the story to my daughter. The story was a great starting point for talking about bad moods- what causes them and makes them go away. My daughter was able to recognise times she had the bad mood cloud in the past.

Lovely, enjoyable story and beautiful pictures, and we still talk about having a ‘bad mood cloud’ now!  The ending is slightly peculiar I think!  But overall an enjoyable and very attractive book.

This story starts with a little girl called Curly who has a bad mood and a stick. The bad mood is represented by a cloud which follows various characters in the book as things happen to cause them to be in a bad mood.

The concept behind this book is a great one for young children. It shows how bad moods can spread from one person to another. Reading this book is a great way to have a conversation with children about emotions and how one's bad mood can impact on those around it.

The book has absolutely gorgeous illustrations which really invoke a 1950's feel.

There was one slightly strange scene in the book which stopped me giving it 5 stars.  Lou goes to the dry cleaners and takes off his trousers to insist they are washed as they are covered in mud. Mrs Durham, who works there, takes a look at grumpy Lou in his underwear and the bad mood flies out the window. They end the story getting married. Why seeing Lou in his underwear caused the bad mood to fly away without landing on Mrs Durham felt a little icky for a book written for small children! My daughters haven't picked up on it but it just felt a little weird to me.

This book is incredibly unusual. Firstly I must say the illustrations are beautiful and it shows as a book of quality.

It's an interesting read, I'm not sure everyone will 'get' the story though.... although clever it's not necessarily obvious and I feel some children might be left feeling unsure and maybe underwhelmed by it. Rufus my nephew seemed to enjoy it when I read it to him, although he got easily distracted at times.

I think potentially this will be marmite book for children/parents - you'll love it or hate it!

Overall, however, it has a great message, unique story and beautifully presented.
