The best-selling children's picture book about one brave knight and a whole lot of adventure. Once upon a time, there was a deep, dark forest, where monstrous trees groaned, terrible beasties moaned and wiggly woos waited to tickle your toes. Nobody ever went there until...Sir Charlie Stinkysocks, his good grey mare and his pet cat Envelope decide the time has come for a really big adventure. Sir Charlie packs his best sword and his sandwiches and off he goes, over the hills and far away, until he gets to the deep, dark forest. Sir Charlie doesn't flinch when he meets the beasties, or the dragon, or the wily witch, but when he comes across the princess, he realises he's met his match! A swashbuckling, funny and charming adventure from best-selling picture book author/illustrator Kristina Stephenson - an ideal readaloud story to share with your little adventurer.

This is such a wonderfully illustrated picture book. Sir Charlie is in search of an adventure. He comes across a fair few creatures and acts always with great kindness. My children love this story very much.

My son had to review a book for his school homework-he chose this one! Lots of quirky characters, and interesting flaps to lift up in places, make for a fun read. William loved the cat's name ('Envelope'), which tickled him, as did mention of wiggly woos that tickle your toes.  Nothing seems to faze Sir Charlie as he goes about his adventures, and there's a funny twist at the end when he meets the witch! I hadn't realised more of these books existed (e.g. Sir Charlie Stinky Socks: The Tale of the Wizard's Whisper, and many others), so I'm off to track these down for future bedtimes.
