D-Code
Colour Coding Vowels for Dyslexic Readers.
This method of teaching struggling readers - in particular dyslexics, was developed by Mary Moran.
Mary has been an Orton/Gillingham tutor for over 35 years.
In the course of her work she discovered that attributing a specific colour to a vowel family greatly improved the students ability to remember and use the vowel sound, which in turn made them better readers.
This program contains 8 workbooks in total.
New skills acquired in consecutive books are built on those learned in the books that came before until the student's brain is programmed to read fluently and accurately.
Helping the struggling dyslexic reader has been my passion for over 35 years.
The right to an education is what every parent wants for their child and every child has a desire to read. When the ability to read happens after a struggle it is magical but the inability to read affects a child educationally, emotionally and mentally. Watching a struggling reader become a proficient one is one of the greatest gifts a teacher can be given. I have experienced it many times and I hope others will too. Mary Moran
