My daughter chose this book, and it was really fitting as she starts school im September. Lily ends up throwing her teddy Bobbo on top of a school bus, and he ends up on an adventure. At school the children looks after him and he ends up seeing all the nice and fun things you dl at school. This was a lovely book to share with my daughter who is startong school soon. We discussed things they did in the book, that she will be doing at school : playing, writing, listening to stories etc. Bobbo was returned to LIly at the end, so it was a happy ending.

We read another Shirley Hughes book that we liked (Dogger) so when we saw the title of this book we got excited since my son is starting school now in September. It's about a little girl that has a favourite toy, but she is kind of badly behaved and ends up loosing her soft toy, that ends up in school, then it's put in a classroom, until the girl goes with her mum to pick him up. However I don't think we had a lot of idea of what is really done in school and the focus I think was more on the child loosing her teddy and finding it again then on school, so this book wasn't really what we were expecting and the illustrations were nice but not as full of detail as Dogger was... Probably best for younger kids just to get an initial sense of school.
