The Bug Club Nursery Language Booster is designed to help children aged 3-4 develop the
early communication and language skills they need to succeed when they move to Reception.
Areas covered include vocabulary, use of sentences, listening, understanding and storytelling.
Designed for delivery by an early years practitioner, each session focuses on children working in
a small group to develop their language through play using the LEGO (R) Education StoryTales set.
The resource comprises:
* 12 sessions lasting 10-20 minutes which can be delivered flexibly - once, twice or three
times a week
* Photocopiable home learning sheets with stories, rhymes, songs and ideas for parents to
continue the language learning at home
* An informal communication assessment to identify children who would benefit from the
sessions and measure outcomes
* LEGO (R) Education StoryTales set (available separately)
