This edition of the 826 Quarterly contains fiction, non-fiction, and poetry written by authors ages 6-18. The pieces are selected from all the 826 programs (drop-in tutoring, workshops, in-schools, projects, field trips) and at-large submissions. Pieces are chosen in a traditional literary journal style by an editorial board comprised of students and volunteer tutors.
This particular issue features a fictional story about a boy stuck in a glow stick, a poem about a balloon who's afraid of popping, a personal essay about having two names, an excerpt about a pair of exploding boots, and investigative journalism about soul surfers, as well as a healthy selection of stories from the world outside of San Francisco. These pages are filled with imagination, wit, and charm that is sure to captivate readers of all ages.
