Pickles is a cheeky, naughty, fun and lovable purple teddy who suddenly realises that his owner, Erin, isn't where he left her. After a while, he starts to wonder whether it is really Erin who has gotten lost? Includes a DVD with two animations: 1. "Where are you Pickles!?!" - an animated version of the picture book. Pickles wants to go with Erin to the doctor, but quickly gets bored and wanders off. He can't remember the steps to take when lost as he wasn't listening earlier that day, so he ends up taking all the wrong steps. It's good job that Erin knows what to do. 2. "Pickles and the Bully" - a musical movie short. A bully takes Pickles toy in the play park. Pickles is only small and can't talk. Whilst initially upset, he finds a way to resolve the situation ...well, sort of ...Pickles Adventures are based on the true life adventures of the author's daughter and her real-life teddy, Pickles. Although imagined in Scotland, the stories are universally portrayed. This child's picture book is aimed at children aged 2, 3, 4 or 5 years old - toddlers and infants.
Whilst this is not a "learn to read" or purely educational storybook, the wording is deliberately simple so that children can start reading along as they get older. There are 35 large images in this 9" square paperback story book. Unlike some kids picture books, not everything is explained in the text. Some of the images have clues in them, indicating what is about to happen next. Of course, the subject matter is suitable for reading any time of day, that includes bedtime stories. If you've ever spent a fair bit of time thinking about why a ladybird is called a ladybird, then Pickles Adventures are for you. This one is an especially recommended bargain at the current discounted price for a large, square full colour children's story book plus two cartoons on DVD - animations for toddlers, infants and hopefully adults to enjoy as well.
