When one greedy goat strips a scarecrow bare, leaving a cornfield unprotected from five passing pigeons, it takes the gumption of Tiny Chick to save the day. She may be small but she's super smart and, with the help of her farmyard friends, she persuades those silly pigeons that they're about to be baked into a pie - it's enough to send them packing! Well, how would you like it if you turned up for an eat-as-much-as-you-like meal only to discover that you were on
the menu? This funny farmyard drama shows that heroes can come in all shapes and sizes.

A humorous book which works well on many levels. Fun illustrations for the little ones and a quirky, alliterative story for bigger kids. The jokes aren't just in the story but are also visual. It's a winning formula of a little guy with a big plan set on a farm. My little girl loved the pictures and I enjoyed reading the story.

Although initially my 6 year old turned her nose at it, she was soon gripped by the story. Set on an American farm, a farmer and his wife are both forgetful and the animals come to the rescue. It is funny and well illustrated. My six year enjoyed reading it to me too.
