When Leah and Alan wake up in an enchanted forest, they have no idea where they are or how to get home. Alone in a strange place, the two children have only each other and their wits to guide them. As they drift through the forest, seeking the way home, they find themselves in a world of pet bees and giant rabbits. They meet dandy lions and stone frogs who guide them along the way. They also learn to confront danger and find their independence as they experience the one thing all kids must do for themselves: growing up.
