Christopher Nibble loves munching dandelion leaves. And he's not alone. All the guinea pigs in Dandeville eat dandelion leaves for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But no-one seems to do anything when the dandelions begin to dwindle. They just carry on munching. In fact the guinea pigs of Dandeville are heading for eco-disaster . . . But that's where Christopher Nibble steps in. He discovers the last dandelion growing outside his bedroom window and, rather than eat it,
he does his horticultural research in the library and then nurtures the dandelion patiently until it has produced a perfect head of tiny seeds. Then he blows the seeds from a hill high over Dandeville so that each dandelion seedling takes root and grows into a new plant. Charlotte Middleton has
illustrated her witty, quirky story with charming collage illustrations and her guinea pigs are the most endearing, funky little characters you are ever likely to meet.

This was a great  book, my daughter really enjoyed it (especially since we have just got new guinea pigs!) Christoper has a solution to a very big piggies problem. I loved the illustrations and the names given to the town are in the story and my daughter loved how Christopher saves the day.

Christopher Nibbles and his guinea pig chums LOVE dandelion leaves... the whole of Dandeville is munching away.... until the leaves start to run out.... and the town's cafes have to replace them with CABBAGE leaves.... dandelion leaves trade on the internet (ebay) at inflated prices etc.. While they wont starve eating cabbages... its just not the same.

Christopher has a secret.... the last dandelion (perhaps in the whole world) is growing outside his window. He visits a library to learn about dandelion cultivation and care... buys a cloche to protect it from pests and the elements.... and waters it.... until it flowers and forms a dandelion head full of tiny seeds. He carefully picks it, climbs Daisy Chain Hill and blows on the flower to scatter the seeds returning dandelions to the village. Everyone is happy to have dandelions to eat again... and Christopher enjoys his new gardening hobby making sure he always has some protected dandelions in case there's a shortage again!

A lovely companion book for a young child who is beginning to show interest in their own garden / their parents gardening projects. Also strong environmental message about looking after and not wasting our resources / allowing them enough time so that they can self-sustain and are not allowed to get too depleted in number. The illustrations are clean and delightfully simple. It's one of my daughter's current favourites - so glad it was read to us at Rhyme Time at the library allowing us to go and buy it.

What a thoughtful little guinea pig Christopher Nibble is, a lovely tale about all the dandelions being eaten in Danderville but Christopher Nibble finds the last dandelion he carefully looks after it researching in the library until he can blow the seeds all over the hill to grow dandelions for everybody.  Really 'good feel' factor to this book, it is a charming story.

This is a lovely story about a town of Guinea Pigs who run out of dandelions one day but Christopher Nibbles manages to find one and cultivate it until he can blow the seeds to grow more. It's a cute story which also touches on sustainability and also the process of growing a new plant.

This is a lovely little story of how a guinea pig stopped dandelions becoming 'extinct', by looking after and growing the last one in town.
Simple illustrations and writing font make it a lovable little tale.

Christopher Nibble needs to save the day before guinea-pigs across the land will be without dandelions forever more...and we all know how much guinea-pigs LOVE dandelions.  This story is really very sweet, quite funny and has an edge of teaching as Christopher learns how to grow dandelions from the very last one to cultivate more.  My little girl loves this book, it helps that she has two dandelion loving guinea-pigs.
An endearing story which has us giggling each time.

I read this story to my son various times when he was 2 years old, and he liked it a lot. It's a story of a city of guinea pigs and they all love dandelions so much they finish them off, and our dear Christopher Nibble has the last Dandelion left and he learns how to grow new dandelions so everyone can eat them again. Nice and colourful story!

A very pleasant surprise-  what a lovely book. Was not expecting much from the cover but the story is charming. Guinea pigs love dandelions but they manage to eat them all,  but one! Luckily it is growing outside Christopher Nibbles' house and he is very sensible.

Christopher Nibbles is a guinea pig who lives in Dandeville along with his friends and family. They ALL love eating Dandelions. They eat so many that....they start to run out! What will happen if there are no more dandelions?
This is one of my sons favourite books - maybe because he has a hamster (who is not too dissimilar to guinea pig Christopher Nibbles) or it could be the easygoing style of how the story is told. The pictures are quite cute and there are little jokes for the adults reading the story to enjoy (have a look at the book titles in the library...).
