From leading breakfast radio star Christian O'Connell comes a brilliant and laugh-out-loud story of an ordinary boy with an extraordinary secret radio show. (Broadcast from his shed.)
Meet Spike, aka Radio Boy: a new Adrian Mole on the radio for the internet generation.
Spike's your average awkward 11 year old, funny and cheeky and with a mum to reckon with. When he becomes the first presenter ever to be sacked from hospital radio, he decides to carry on from a makeshift studio in the garden shed, with the help of his best friends Artie and Holly, disguising his voice and going by the moniker Radio Boy.
Week by week, word gets around and soon Spike is a star... if only people knew it was actually him. When Spike begins to believe his own hype, and goes too far with his mocking of the school headmaster, a hunt is launched for the mysterious Radio Boy.
Can Spike remain anonymous? Will he get to marry the girl of his dreams, Katherine Hamilton? Will he become famous and popular? The answer to most of these questions is no...

Could not put this book down. I read this as an adult before recommending to children in my class. The characters were relatable and interesting as was the concept of a group of children setting up their own radio station in a shed. It is a fab read. Not only is it funny (I laughed it loud a few times) it also deals with friendship issues and highlights the power of collaboration. A really good read.

It was the best book I ever read. My favourite part about it was when Spike started the radio show, but I didn't like the beginning. It was very interesting although the beginning ruined it.

This was a really good book I read this to my 9 and 6 year old. They both loved the story as it has lots of funny bits in it.  They liked the characters especially Spike who becomes Radio Boy.  It was an easy book to read light hearted and easy for the children to relate to.  The chapters were short so kept my son's attention and made them ideal for a bedtime story.  I would recommend this book for both boys and girls.

We really enjoyed reading this book my son and daughter both enjoyed the story.  The story was funny following Spike and his friends and how they aren't part of the cool people at school.  But what they get up to is really funny.  This book was great for reading together or for children to read to themselves.
