I read this book to my two year old daughter and we both really enjoyed it, it held my daughters attention. The storyline is well written and keeps you in suspense as the story progresses. The illustrations are very well designed and look very realistic. I would recommend this story to parents with toddlers who want to move on from "baby" type hooks.

A wonderful story with a message to "never give up", my eldest loved this book. Great pictures that aren't too busy and the language used is nice and soothing making it perfect for bedtime. We particularly liked the fact that Molly the moth was strong and female which has encouraged my daughter to play astronauts even more.

My 6 year old daughter really enjoyed reading this book. It is well written and has a lovely story about a little moth that just wants to go on an adventure and nobody is going to stop her from reaching her goal. We really enjoyed looking at all the illustrations and talking about the meaning of the book.

Molly is small, she is a moth after all, and she is repeatedly told that her aspirations of visiting the moon will forever remain a dream. Visiting the moon is no easy adventure particularly when you’re as small as Molly but that does not deter her. You see Molly is determined, she has self belief and as the story progresses she gets stronger and more confident. There are failed attempts, some a little comical but Duncan Beedie’s inclusion of such attempts are important in sharing with young readers that with determination AND hard work you can do great things. Also, a failed attempt shouldn’t simply be seen as something that went terribly wrong but a positive lesson that needs to be reflected upon. Duncan Beedie has skillfully written and illustrated a super book. The book highlights the perseverance Molly has. The illustrations through out are brilliant and I’m so pleased that my little boy has met a character as driven and focused as Molly.

This is a really endearing story of determination and dedication to a goal. Molly the moth dreams of flying to the moon but everyone around her doubts her abilities. Despite this, and some disastrous first attempts, she doesn't give up on her dream. The illustrations are uncluttered but still have enough detail to support the storytelling and give you lots to look at. My three year old really liked the pictures, and the exciting countdown to her first mission! This is a great book for teaching little ones perseverance.

Given that my daughter loves the moon she wasn't quite as taken with this book as I had expected. It is well written, with a nice story to entertain older children as well as younger ones (it links a little to the moon landings). The pictures are good, in a sort of comic strip style. I think it might be one to put on the shelf and bring back out when she's a little older.
