Move over Tim Peak I think I have been to space. This book was as great as I expected, like the other welcome to the museum books I have read it is big, bursting with facts and beautiful pictures.  This isn’t like other space books you read with little nuggets of information, it’s has so many facts. Tour the night sky and the Milky Way, be careful when you put it down though everyone including your mum and dad will want to get their hands on this!

This is an absolutely beautiful book and full of really interesting facts. It's set out so that you are exploring one part of the Universe at a time with really detailed information in each section. I have read it and loved learning all about the Universe. For my little ones I read just the first few sentences on each page. It is too complicated for them now but they will continue to love it as they get older. Each page is covered in illustrations that are so gorgeous; my little one were mesmerised by the pictures. They loved finding out about black holes and asked lots of questions about how a star begins. They didn't want me to read about the death of our sun or stars! We had aabug discussion about the Big Bang. This is a fantastic book and we love it loads!

This is a book to read, enjoy, savour and cherish. The fantastic illustrations are captivating. But what appealed to me most is that all the facts are updated in this marvellous book according to the recent changes in research about the universe for example, listing Pluto as a dwarf planet. Also there are sections about exoplanets, telescopes, the Big Bang theory, black holes, dwarf planets and other topics about the cosmos. This is truly an excellent book about the cosmic world.

This book is absolutely amazing. It is such a beautiful and very large hardback book. The attention to detail in all the pictures is absolutely stunning. The book itself guides you through different aspects of the Universe. You start off finding your place in the Universe and continue by exploring the Solar System, The Sun and so much more. There are so many fascinating facts and details in this book that I think we will be reading it for quite a while. We have been fascinated by everything we have seen and read so far. A wonderful book for anyone interested in the Universe.

We absolutely love this beautiful book. It is so magical; content wise but also the pictures are fantastic. We read this every night. The book guides you through the universe and allows you to go on a visual adventure of the solar system. It is packed full of facts and wonder. A fascinating read for anyone but especially those interested in space.

I was very impressed when I received this book. Its quite large and has some beautiful illustrations that make it appealing to children. Me and my daughter really enjoyed learning all about the Universe and mankind's journey of discovery. I particularly enjoyed the historical aspects whereas my daughter enjoyed learning all about the constellations and galaxies. As a teacher this book is definitely a highlight of my collection and I will use it when teaching about the Solar System. Definitely a must for budding Hawkins enthusiasts!

A beautifully presented book about space, exploring everything from the Sun and our Solar System to Black Holes and the Ultimate End of the Universe. When I first looked at this book I wasn't overly impressed, it looked a little wordy with exquisite artistic impressions of the Sun, planets etc but not something that I thought would appeal to my son. In actual fact when he first received it he had a quick flick through himself and then abandoned it. However, when we both sat down together and start to read it, we were both much more impressed. It makes a complicating subject accessible to an older primary aged child. We both in particular liked the Big Bang section and illustrations. Excellent book but it is to be looked at carefully and slowly in order to be appreciated.

This beautiful book is part of the Welcome To The Museum series and -like the other books in this series- is set out like a museum  as the different sections are called galleries -not chapters.  Also, the large pictures are labelled like artefacts in a museum. The illustrations are very detailed and interesting and help you understand what the writing is about. The differing topics are put into different ‘galleries’ and then they get a page each with a text explaining what it is and underneath it a key to explain the picture. My favourite ‘gallery’ is The Universe because it describes this very complicated topic very well in an easy-to-understand format. It also tells you about different theories (such as the Big Bang). I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in space or anyone who wants to amaze their friends and family!
