"Our Global Community" uses the familiar Acorn format of a simple text structure combined with stunning photography to introduce Key Stage 1 readers to familiar aspects of life in communities across the world. Each book looks at a different ritual of everyday life, such as going to school and shopping for food, in order to expose readers to the lives of people in other cultures. The picture glossaries visually reinforce information learned in the books. It includes suggestions and opportunities for whole class discussion of the subject matter.
