The challenging Learner's Books combine a variety of fiction, non-fiction, drama and poetry from different cultures. They aim to encourage a thorough understanding and knowledge of language and include a Writing Portfolio to help students explore the process of writing and creating their own texts. The Teacher's Guides outline the methodology and requirements of Curriculum 2005 and describe how it can be used to develop outcomes-based education. Details of the outcomes and Assessment Criteria for the Language and Communication learning area are provided. Grades 5 & 6 material is in the process of being developed for outcomes-based education.
