I went to the supermarket and I bought . . .

When a brother and sister play their favourite game of I Went To the Supermarket, they compete to see who can think of the most bizarre and brilliant things. As their words come to life, they get more and more carried away . . . Until the game comes to a surprising, and somewhat messy, end!

A new take on an old favourite, children will love this laugh-out-loud, test-your-memory story, with witches, dragons, aliens, flamingos and much, much more!

Gorgeous, bright illustrations, funny text and offers a bit more than just a story. Our boys aren't very keen on shopping as it is unless they're getting toys but after this one they've wanted to go to a shop just because they want to find all the unusual items that were bought in this book. The book also works as a memory game and we've had a few fun nights playing the game before bedtime, taking turns to see who remembers the most. Definitely worth the read, again and again.

I went to the supermarket is a lovely brightly illustrated book that was enjoyed by myself and my two year old son.  I really liked that the items the characters bought in the shop were quirky and unusual as they made for interesting talking points. For example, my son now knows what a tuba is, how you play one and the sound it makes! We have already read it several times and each time my little one recalls more of the items. A great memory game book! Thank you.

Jessica loved this book with its bright illustrations and amusing text. It is a great introduction to the 'shopping game'. It didn't take long before we were able to take turns at remembering what had been bought. Fantastic book which we thoroughly recommend.

What a great book! My little boy received a copy this morning and we've already read through it 5 times. "I went to the supermarket and brought....." is a great memory book with some fantastic illustrations. My little boy particular loved adding sound effects to all the items and particular loved the 'Jelly' ending. I think this superb picture book will be a firm favourite on his bookshelf for a while.

My 4 year old son absolutely loves this book. We love the bright illustrations and the way you have to turn the book to read a couple of the pages, makes it even more fun and interesting. It's a great book for focusing on memory building. I would definitely recommend this book to others

Fantastic book, my 6 year old son loved this book as did I.
The illustrations in this book are lovely and bright. As I was reading this book to my son , it brought back memories of my childhood, reminded me of my favourite book 'Don't forget the bacon' by Pat Hutchins as this book is similar, remembering what was brought at a supermarket.
This book made my son really think and jot his memory of what was brought at the supermarket, he said his favourite part was the end.
Think this will become the new bedtime favourite. Thanks Toppsta.

What a fantastic book! Bright illustrations. It was a wonderful introduction to the 'shopping game'. My granddaughter soon picked up the idea and we shared the reading, she particularly thought the fearsome granny pirate was funny. I would thoroughly recommend this book made for a wonderful sharing experience and excellent for developing memory skills.Thank you Toppsta.

This book is based on the game "I went to the shop and I bought"... but with a fun twist! My sons enjoy this book, and trying to remember what has been bought. There's a great bit near the end where they have to guess what has been forgotten. Really good fun book while helping kids improve their memories at the same time

I thought my daughter would enjoy this book as we play the game, however, she didn't she got really bored half way through.  The book was very repetitive which is expected as it's based on the game. But each page was the same with the addition of a new sentence.  I was a little bored reading it. I understand that it's good for memory and vocabulary but it didn't  keep my daughter interested long enough.  The illustrations are fantastic with lots of colour and they're really fun. Not a book for us !
