When Ted falls out of bed, three tearaway mice whisk him off on a breathtaking adventure. They zoom around in fast cars, go on a balloon ride and climb a building-block mountain. It's all very exciting, but will Ted ever get back to his bed? One Ted Falls Out of Bed's counting theme is woven perfectly into a magical, rhythmic text by former Children's Laureate, Julia Donaldson, and features gorgeous illustrations from Anna Currey.

A great bedtime story which counts from 1 - 10 and back again while making the toys rhyme. We were very pleased when Ted was reunited with his owner!

A charming counting book - Ted falls out of bed, two eyes stay shut, three mice say "play with us", in 4 fast cars, and look at 5 bright stars out the window, take tea with 6 dolls, and a fight with 7 trolls, take a trip with 8 balloons to see 9 frogs playing tunes.... but after these adventures Ted just wants to get back in the warm bed... so uses building blocks to make a staircase.... 1 through 10 again, that come crashing down 10 counting down to 1... briefly waking his owner who pulls him back into bed. There are so many books of this ilk - however the repeated counting (in both directions - counting up to and down from 10) within a compelling story - make this the one to buy.

Is a rhyming story by the marvellous julia Donaldson. Great bedtime story for little ones about Ted falling out of bed and what happens next in a toys come to life kind of way. For younger listeners it is just a gentle bedtime story,  for slightly older preschoolers it is a counting story with numbers up to 10. Beautifully illustrated. Would recommend. 18 months to 5 years.

This is a charming counting book that is perfect for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. As a child falls asleep, they drop their teddy. And the toys in the bedroom spring to life. This was a bedtime favourite with both my children as it is such a gentle and imaginative tale. Much simpler and shorter than other Julia Donaldson books, this is just as loved in out house as Monkey Puzzle and Cave Baby.

We came across this book by chance in a gift set and we love it. I didn't realise at first that it was Julia Donaldson but the rhymes, while simple, were slightly quirky and clever as you would expect from such an influential children's writer. It's a very simple counting book really - from 1-10 and back again but the sweet illustrations and the appealing characters make it quite engrossing. My daughter particularly loves the fiddle-playing frogs! Recommended for very young children.

This is a nice story with a gentle rhyme all about a ted falling out of bed and trying to be reunited with his owner. It counts up to ten and back again with all the toys the ted meets and plays with. My little one likes looking at the illustrations and I’m sure she’ll like counting with ted when she’s older.
