Understanding Maths is a series of books designed to reinforce skills and knowledge at Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum. Each book focuses on a particular maths topic with explanations and teaching points, exercises, answers section and glossary of terms. Number Patterns and Early Algebra explores and develops skills in recognising, explaining and making predictions in simple number patterns and sequences. It also introduces simple algebra to explain some of the patterns found. There are plenty of examples and practical activities to promote confidence in pattern recognition. The Number Patterns and Early Algebra book includes: explaining number sequences, predicting number sequences, counting on and back in different multiples (including decimal numbers), square numbers, factors and prime numbers.
