The first in a fast-paced, funny series featuring The Stig: Top Gear's legendary racing driver.

Sam Wheeler may be the new boy in Bunsfold, but he's got a feeling that all is not well either in the town or at Bunsfold High - and he's not just talking about the maths teacher with the unfortunate flatulence. A local boy, Buster Mustang, has recently gone missing, and no one seems to care - they're all too busy playing the highly addictive video game Xenon or getting the town ready for its very first TT race. Both are the brainchild of mysterious local billionaire PT Cruiser. Besides global domination, PT Cruiser wants nothing more than to destroy his nemesis The Stig once and for all - and his TT race is just what he needs to tempt him on to the big stage again ...

Sam sets out with his new friends Minnie Cooper and Ford Harrison to uncover the truth behind all the strange goings-on in Bunsfold - but danger has a habit of showing up wherever they do, and soon all that stands between our heroes and disaster is ... a taciturn man in a white suit.

Perfect for fans of ALEX RIDER and CHERUB

Never read anything like this book before. The Stig, if you have known him before or not is a interesting character, this book is set now with current topics like computer games. It has an interesting ending you will need to read to find out about.  A good read for older children

Ok, so a book about the Stig, Computer Games, Cars, Racing and an action packed adventure featuring a good villain.....Boys and girls alike are definitely going to want to read this - especially fans of Top Gear and the Grand Tour.

This is a good book, especially for boys who may have fallen out of reading in favour of other interests like sports etc. I was looking for something to re- engage my sons interest in books following a spell when football had become his number one focus - and this book worked like a treat.

In typing up this review, William has just excitedly relayed the plot to me - so now I know the book is about a town where a local boy goes missing...but nobody seems to notice because they are all too busy playing a video game. A new kid to the town, Sam notices that something weird is going on with the town and people - particularly their addiction to this game...

Alongside all this, a big TT race is going on in the town, which the Stig is sue to take part in. However the race isn't all it seems either - just a ploy by a mysterious and evil billionaire to entice the Stig to the town and destroy him...

While my son William didn't hold back with the spoilers, I won't say much more, other than to say that my son really enjoyed this book, he's 9.  It also is quite a good size book, short chapters, which was great for getting my son back into reading again after a bit of a break!

A great book. My husband actually read it to my son !!! They are both big Top Gear fans but they said even if you wasn't you would still enjoy the book.

Levi loved the pictures in this book. The first chapter really sucked him into the story and the short chapters helped keep him focused. Daddy really enjoyed this book too.

I would not have chosen this book as I don't watch top gear. I think it is a good story and like the sense of humour in the book. I think I would like to read some more by this Author. If you love thrills and cars then this is a good book.

I liked this book and it was quite quick to read.  I thought it would be about car racing but although the Stig is in it it’s more of an adventure story.  I enjoyed reading about how they saved the town and I enjoyed this book but it was not hard to read.

A good hook for my 11 year old reluctant reader who loves Top Gear.  He wouldn't tell me much about his reading experience of this book, other than 'it was alright, yeah'. That's actually quite a detailed report for him, so it must have touched him on some level. Thanks, Stig.

I have seen Top Gear before so am familiar with the Stig, though you don’t need to be familiar to enjoy the story . I enjoyed this book. It’s easy to read with short chapters. I thought it might just be about cars but it wasn’t. One both boys and girls can enjoy. I would recommend to others

Sam Wheeler is the new kid in the sleepy Surrey town of Bunfold; A place where no one seems concerned that a local boy (Buster Mustang) has gone missing and where the majority of the town are are gripped by Xenon - a zombie inducing video game.

Along with his new friends - Minnie Cooper and Ford Harrison - he must not only outwitt the bullies at school led by the billionaire Cabriola Cruiser but with extra help from the white clad racing driver they must attempt to defeat her father - the evil dillonaire PT Cruiser. His plan is to unleash Xenon on the world and destroy his nemesis (The Stig) at the same time!

This OTT action adventure story is sure to be a hit with the huge following that Top Gear has. If the action is not enough, what will further its appeal still is the huge number of motoring and  computer game references as well as the bucket load of puns made throughout the story. While it will definitely appeal to the boys, with the strong female characters of Minnie & Cabriola it will also appeal to girls too.

While it may not be the next literary masterpiece, it definitely is funny and action packed!

My son was excited to read this book as he loves Top Gear.  He was a bit unsure about the story at first but as we got into the book he really enjoyed the story about a town that is under the control of a computer game except for a small group of children who have to save the day with the help of The Stig.  This is a good book for boys especially if they don't really enjoy reading with short chapters that move the story along quickly.
