Jamie, Ten Tons and Davies are mudlarks. To live, they sell bits of coal, rope and copper scavenged from the cold, foul mud of the River Thames. When they see a valuable piece of copper fall off a ship, Ten Tons comes up with a daring plan to retrieve it. But it is a plan filled with great danger.
