"Transafrique" is a fully integrated French course, in three levels, for Junior Secondary School pupils in The Gambia. The material is lively and communicative in its approach and with its emphasis on group work, is designed with larger classes in mind. Special feature include: visual presentation - this eliminates the need for supplementary teaching aids; group work activities - these promote fluency in all skills with realistic dialogues and role plays; grammar - the key points are highlighted in clearly defined boxes; reading - the stories exploit situations with which the pupils are genuinely familiar; and revision - regularly recycles and reviews structures and vocabulary. Each level of "Transafrique" has: a student's book; a workbook containing additional practice material; and a teacher's book giving detailed teaching notes and a full answer key.
