Just the Job is an innovative new series. The books are accessible and informative resources, looking at the working lives of various members of the community. They also present much-needed careers information for school-leavers with learning difficulties who may be wondering what choices are open to them. Each book follows a real person with learning difficulties through their daily work, looking at each of the tasks involved, and presents the qualifications and qualities necessary for the particular career. The books also examine the jobs done by other people working in the same environment to give an overview of all the career options found in each place. Information is presented in an exciting magazine-style format, designed to attract older reluctant readers. The main text gives the narrative of the subject's day, while pull-out boxes give additional information about other jobs and offer fact-file-style quick reference notes about necessary qualifications and useful experience. The final spread gives further information on training opportunities and how to go about finding a job in your chosen career, with advice from MENCAP.
This is Book 7 in the Just the Job Series. See all Just the Job books here.
