A Guide to 2UG English is written by experienced teachers for Year 12 students studying for the NSW 2 Unit General English course. There are detailed discussions of all set texts, including those in the two Topic Areas, and guidance on how to approach the Reading and Writing Tasks. The articles are written with the aim of stimulating reactions, prompting discussion and independent inquiry, leading to students developing their own interpretations of and thoughts on the set texts. The articles include pre-text activities, discussions of significance of titles, major themes and issues, language, characterisation, key passages and suggested questions. Essay questions with guidelines are provided as well as sample essay questions to help students prepare thoroughly for the examination.
