Phonics for Reading provides an innovative approach to the teaching of phonics after individual letter recognition is secure (year 2/primary 3 and upwards). It contains 32 photocopiable worksheets with accompanying teacher's pages. There are problem-solving activities which help children to recognise and pronounce common letter patterns within words. Children are taught to use this knowledge in the reading strategy of 'sounding out' unrecognised words.
