Cambridge Reading is a major new reading scheme which provides stimulating books and support materials for the teaching of reading throughout the primary years. Key features include: a coherent yet flexible structure for teaching and learning; a variety of high quality, attractive picture books; a balance of different text types and genres, including stories, poems and information books; an integrated phonics programme; comprehensive support materials. Phonics for Reading provides an innovative approach to the teaching of phonics after individual letter recognition is secure (year 2/primary 3 and upwards). It contains 32 photocopiable worksheets with accompanying teacher's pages. There are problem-solving activities which help children to recognise and pronounce common letter patterns within words. Children are taught to use this knowledge in the reading strategy of 'sounding out' unrecognised words.
This is Book 9 in the Cambridge Reading Australia Series. See all Cambridge Reading Australia books here.
