One little girl dreams of being a star. But whether it's finding Mum's lost wedding ring or winning the fancy-dress prize, her big sister always shines brighter. Yet for her grandad she is a star and, as he dries her eyes and they both gaze up at the night sky, he tells a story, the story of the beginning of the world. Everything and everyone is made of stardust, and we all shine in different ways. It's a lesson this little girl will never forget . . . and one day her dream comes true, and she finally realises her ambition to become an astronaut and fly up to the stars.

A heartwarming story about a little girl who feel low self esteem. She feels that she is not good enough as her older sister . I love everything about this book from marvellous illustrations to simple story lines.
I love the way the writers use the Big Bang theory as a valuable advice and the vital importance of grandparents in children lifes. A perfect book for little girls.

This book is about a little girl who doesn't feel as special as her older sister but with the help and reassurance from her grandad she realises that she is just as special as her older sister especially when following her dreams.

This is an absolutely magical book, the feel of it, the quality, the most beautiful illustrations, the importance of family and grandparents and the heart warming message.

We are all made of stardust and we sparkle in our own way.

I think I got just as much out of this book as my children, maybe more. A must for little girls and anyone with low self esteem. Completely beautiful.

A really wonderful story about how everyone is special and unique. The little girl in the story learns how, like the stars in the sky, everyone sparkles in their own way. The illustrations are beautiful and the story simple for little ones to follow too. A new favourite :)

I read it to MunchkinMia aged 4 aged 4 & to Peacehaven Little Library Early Years aged 4 to 5

This book is beautiful! Inspiring text and stunning illustrations combine to make this book truly gift-worthy. A young girl feels lost in the shadow of her sister until her grandfather shares the story of how the universe began and tells her we are all made of stardust. Inspired by his wisdom and love she follows her heart and becomes an astronaut.
Told as much through the illustrations as the text, this is a beautiful book to share with the young girls in your life. Special applause for the diversity in the illustrations, showing children of all colours, abilities and backgrounds. The girls playing football is a nice touch. Smashing gender-stereotypes and celebrating individuality, I love the strong message of girl-power.

Absolutely beautiful book. Perfect for a younger sibling that feels they can't compete with an older sibling.
Beautiful pictures that my niece adores. The story has a lovely positive message and she loves going back to it again and again. A real hit!

I think that I enjoyed this story more than my 4 year old!
It is a lovely story with a real feel-good factor, although I think the message of the story is probably lost on a younger audience.
The illustrations are beautiful and the relationship between the little girl and her grandfather is heartwarming.
I am not sure that I would pay £11.99 for it though.
