When Sophie moves her teddies, she finds a magical fairy door in the skirting board. Bella the fairy flies in and takes her to fairyland - with the help of some fairy dust. After flying through fairyland they catch the tea-cup train home again - but it won't go and no amount of fairy dust will help. Thank goodness Sophie has the answer and saves the day! A full colour, read-out-loud picture book told in rhyme illustrated by Erica Jane Waters.

We've waited a long time for this book to arrive but it was worth the wait. This book is the stuff of little girls' dreams! It is magical and wonderful and an adventure that could be real!
Georgie loves it. She loves that it is rhyming, she loves the illustrations (which are detailed and clear), she loves the 2 main characters, she loves the adventure (and wants to be the little girl in the story), and she loves the fairy glitter on the cover!
I think this will be a bedtime favourite for a while, especially as she has a fairy door in her bedroom!

The pictures are are lovely and there is a nice activity page at the back to spot things in the illustrations. It has rhyme throughout and my daughter likes joining in. Would recommend for any young girl!

This was a very cute book that my daughter enjoyed. Sophie found a fairy door in her room and was introduced to the fairy Bella. They went through the door, where Sophie had a magical adventure with her new fairy friends. They all had to work together to get the tea-cup train running again. Ultimately, Sophie's belief in magic was what saved the day. She returned home before hiding the door until next time.
This book is definitely aimed for those who like fairies and pink, but it was still a nice story. It used an effective rhyme scheme to move the story along. The illustrations were cute and fit the story. The end of the book mentions some items to find and count throughout the book. This is a nice way to add some educational value to rereads. And the back cover has some cards to cut out and keep. I get the impression Fairydoorz must have cards available from other sources, perhaps to play a game. Even on their own, the cards are a nice addition to the book. My daughter was attentive during the story and really liked the tea-cup train. Being that she loves trains, I wasn't very surprised. While this book might not suit all children in the age range, it will go over very well with those who do like fairies. And the train might help others follow the story. It's a nice quality book that suits all fairy lovers moving to slightly longer picture books.

I read this to my almost 5 year old daughter and she really enjoyed it.  She is a girly girl and she was attracted to the beautiful illustrations and fairy story. As a parent I prefer to read rhyming books aloud to my children and this one did not disappoint with its cleverly crafted 4 line verses, and the activity page at the back was a bonus as it encouraged her to examine the book again more carefully. All in all a winner in our house.

What a fantastic book this is. The story is great and the pictures are just lovely which is always an added bonus. My daughter enjoyed the rhyming text and loved following the adventures of Sophie and the fairies, she is now obsessed with having her very own fairy door with the hopes of having her own adventures. Would really recommend this book.

This is a lovely girlie book from the glittery cover to the clear but detailed illustrations that Freya loves to look at.  The story is told in rhyme which is always a great way to read with a youngster as they love to join in.  The story is full of adventure and we couldn't wait to find out what happened next.  We both really enjoyed this book.
