I think it was as good as the first Harry Potter book. It is a bit scarier than the first book though. I liked Fawkes the Phoenix best. I liked the illustrations of Diagon Alley and all the different stores that you can see there. I thought the car that Arthur Weasley bewitches was very funny. It seems to be alive. Professor Lockhart was a bit dotty. It was funny when he released the Cornish pixies in the classroom for the pupils to capture. The pixies reminded me a bit of Pratchett's Wee Free Men. I would definitely recommend this book.

(This edition was the colour illustrated one.)

I really enjoyed this book and I really connected to the main characters. It’s the second book in the Harry Potter series and is definitely worth a read. It was just as good as the first book and the magic of it is still the same. It’s a really good series and I would recommend that it’s read by all children.

The second book in the series.  Harry is now in his second year at Hogwarts and this time he is being accused of opening the Chamber of Secrets.  Ron's sister Ginnie goes missing and pupils are being 'Petrified'.  With the help of his friends and a new member of staff he has to uncover the truth and save the whole school.  Loots of adventure and more insight to the world of magic. A fantastic book for girls and boys of all ages.
