The big day has almost arrived and one little puppy is very excited about his first EVER Christmas . But with three drooling Dalmatians , six sausage-snaffling Scotties and every dog in town helping out, the festive season is a shambles! Will everything be ready in time for Christmas Day ?

Children will love picking their favourite dogs and spotting the puppy in busy scenes. This hilarious picture book is a great way to introduce children to Christmas traditions.

'Just the thing for dog lovers, this charming picture book gives the old Christmas favourite a canine makeover, and great fun it is too' LoveReading
'Festive scenes adorn every page and there's plenty here to help children build up anticipation. But with all these dogs on the scene, will anything get done? Great fun, with vibrant illustrations by Marisa Morea.' Parents in Touch

My daughter loves dogs and this will be a book she enjoys each Christmas for many years to come. I love the way that it details different breeds and matches them to the particular characteristics i.e collies herding gifts under the tree. I can imagine my daughter being entertained by what some of the dogs get up to when she's older. The sentenaces rhyme and flow nicely throughout. I love the illustrations and they portray the dogs in a cute way. The pages are glossy which compliments the wonderfully bright and vibrant pictures. A brilliant Christmas book for dog lovers.

What a quirky and fun filled book. LJ loves it. It's pup's first Christmas and on each page there are different dogs and different escapades. It's a fun way to practice counting and searching for pup on each page adds extra interest. The illustrations are lovely, our favourite page is 'eight leaping Labradors'. If you will pardon the pun this book may well be a little 'dog eared' by Christmas.

A cute story with fantastic illustrations.
My daughters love reading this book with me. A creative story slightly based on the traditional song "The 12 Days of Christmas" song. There are 12 different dogs on each page such as two dachshunds , three Dalmations, four Bulldogs , five golden retrievers , six Scotties etc.
It's a great book for counting and teach about different types of dogs that exist in the world.
A fabulous book to read especially around Christmas time.

This book is absolutely brilliant!
I bought it to read to my class as they are dog mad (like myself) and we couldn't have been happier.
The different dogs filled us with laughter and it is a great change to the 12 days of Christmas.
A super read!

We love this book, such a unique take on a Christmas story with it being all about dogs! It features 12 very cute and festive dogs, one puppy who's extra excited as it's his first ever Christmas! A lovely rhyming book with gorgeous illustrations too. I really recommend it!

A great book for Christmas time, my little boy loved this story of dogs preparing for Christmas (and making a right mess of it!). As you'd expect from the title, there's a different type of dog to count on each spread, from 1-12. The pictures are bright, colourful and detailed, with lots to spot. My son loved the rhyming, funny text and all the trouble that the dogs created, as well as counting all of the dogs. A fun and playful read with the added bonus of teaching counting skills, we would recommend it!

This is a great but ok for dog lovers. It has a lovely story of different dogs being involved in all the preparations and activities of Christmas. Lovely rhymes and alliteration make it a very enjoyable read. The illustrations are bright and bold with plenty of detail to spot and talk about. We love forward to returning to the each year for many years to come.

We enjoyed reading this book in the run up to Christmas this year. My family all love dogs but we can't have one of our own, so the book provides a good opportunity to talk about different breeds and learn some new vocabulary. I also liked that it was a book about christmas time which didn't focus on Santa, which made a nice change.  There were moments when the rhythm of the text felt a little clunky and I think that, while fun, the illustrations could have 'popped' a little more, but we will definitely be returning to this book in years to come.

This is a lovely looking book and my daughter loves animals but it's a good example of the type of book that I think she would like but that actually she wasn't that interested in. We read it together and she like the rhyme but lost interest towards the end and wasn't that interested in the types of dogs - which I thought she would like. The illustrations are great but perhaps not quite so bright and bold as in some children's books. I tried to read it again with her a couple of times but she wasn't interested which was a shame.
