The son of a poor widow, Aladdin is an idle boy easily deceived by a sorcerer pretending to be Aladdin's long lost uncle. The sorcerer tricks Aladdin into trying to find an oil lamp left in a magic cave, where Aladdin gets trapped. But armed with a magic ring, the oil lamp, and the help of their genies, Aladdin escapes from the cave and achieves wealth and happiness.
