Cathy MacPhail won the Kathleen Fidler Award with her novel Run Zan Run, and the Scottish Arts Council Award with Fighting Back. Roxy's Baby was one of the winners of the inaugural Royal Mail Book Awards. Cathy MacPhail's work is enormously popular with young teenagers, her trademarks being pacy and topical storylines.
