By cutting out the sections in this book it is possible to create a three-dimensional model of the periodic table. The model shows all the elements that have so far been discovered arranged in the order of their underlying electronic structure. The book also contains a minibook containing ideas and explanations about the periodic table. When the model is completed the elements spiral downwards to form a helix. The model is has an eight-sided cross-section, elements with similar properties come directly above and below each other as in a conventional periodic table. The three-dimensional form enables other connections to be discerned as well.
