Winds and Wonders is the third book in the 'White Gates Adventures' series. Teenage Abby runs into trouble when she comes up against authoritarian forces in school, as well as in the churches she attends. Impatient Kakko still manages to save her millions of people, but goes through the worst pain she could imagine on the way. Shy Shaun makes a great impact on the football field, but how will it turn out in the game of life off the pitch? And parents Jack and Jalli, and even Nan Matilda, manage some excitement. The 'White Gates Adventures' series combines science fiction and fantasy with an appreciation for the beauty of creation - from the insect (Jalli is an entomologist), through the sweep of the rainbow, to the magnificence of a star-studded sky. The characters come to recognise and understand the loving presence of a Creator and Healer at every juncture, as the past, present and future interlace to talk of love and a hope that is beyond the dimensions of space-time. "Being young at heart, but also having had decades of experience as a minister, sucked into some of the most demanding (and horrific) things in life, I try and bring some faith experience into my 'White Gates Adventures'. My young characters have fun, but they're not immune to the pain and frustrations of teenage life. They go through the mill - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually - but they emerge with the hope of knowing that whatever happens, no matter how much it hurts, they are loved by the One who made and treasures them," says author Trevor.
