“Ruby likes red blocks. Benji likes blue blocks. But what happens when they won’t share?”

With simple text and bold illustrations this book is perfect for very young children. Through the use of coloured building blocks it clearly demonstrates the benefits of sharing and working together. We used the book to inspire some of our own building fun. This was really for my little boy's benefit as he is currently having a few issues with the concept of sharing and I hoped that acting out the book would help his understanding! We shall see!!

This is a very lovely book about the act of sharing. Ruby has red blocks and Benji has blue blocks but when they want what the other has it becomes difficult. This is a great way for little ones to see how sharing can be hard but fun and in the end very rewarding. We especially liked the page at the end with all the different things that were made with the blocks. There are only a few words on each page but this leaves lots of room for discussing the story and the idea of sharing. A great read for little ones.

A simple but engaging story which enables lots of conversations - whether colour, shape, or how to play nicely/share.  We had to read this several times in a row!!

We were lucky enough to win a copy of this book from Toppsta. I was surprised by the size of the book-nice and large and sturdy. It's a very simple book-ideal for my son's age group (he's 2 and a bit)-I also thought the message was highly appropriate for him at the moment-it's all about sharing! Lovely use of red and blue blocks, very few words-simple but effective.

This adorably illustrated, preschool friendly book, is a great reminder for young ones to share. Two children are playing with their preferred colour of blocks but one child soon wants to dabble with the other colour. The child doesn't ask if he could take a block from the other child's pile...uh oh.
The book encouraged lots of discussion with my eldest daughter  about sharing, emotions and the beauty in asking rather then sneakily taking something.
This would be a great book to share with a group of children. It is a sturdy book with cut out shapes making it a lovely book for little hands to hold and explore.

This book is great for learning colours. But isn't the most exciting story. Though Lily seems to enjoy it and is currently enjoying any stories that are about colours. It would have been nice to feature a few more colours in the story though.

A lovely book about sharing.
My daughter is 2 and a half and is just starting to understand what sharing is. However the book, although lovely, was aimed at a much lower level than she is at with reading and so the story didn't hold her attention.

Nice simple book with underlying message about sharing. Not many words so imagine will be a good book later on when my daughter starts reading.
