Supporting those teaching Christianity at Key Stage 1, this book provides background information for teachers, practical examples of pupil activities and discussion starters. The book follows the areas of study identified in the Church of England Board of Education's policy paper "Christianity in the Agreed Syllabus". Similar areas of study can be found in the SCAA RE Model Syllabuses. There are new slants on some of these themes as well as familiar ideas. Topics covered include: Christmas; Easter; what's in the Bible?; visiting a church; using visitors; symbols; light; prayer; and icons. An appendix of useful resources and addresses is also included.
