Mathematics Questions at 11+ (year 6)

Write a Review

The pupil book consists of questions presented in the style of the 11+ Common Entrance papers with spaces provided for working and answers. Many of the questions appeared originally in the 11+ Common Entrance papers (1990-1999) and to these have been added numerous new questions in order to provide extra practice. The material is mostly at National Curriculum Level 4 with some of Level 5 but, for completeness, questions cover ideas met in all levels up to and including Year 6. The grouping of questions closely follows the recent publications by the DfEE and some grading in difficulty has been undertaken. Page edge 'flags' assist in identifying the various sections. The format of the answer books follows that of the Common Entrance mark schemes with answers, marks and, where appropriate, additional guidance. The books have been designed for use by pupils, under the guidance of a teacher or parent, as a resource for practice of basic skills and recall of knowledge. It is hoped that the material will prove useful for pupils in both maintained and independent schools.
The author has taught mathematics for several decades and, for a number of years, has led the ISEB 11 + Mathematics setting team.
