The first book in a new course for Uganda secondary school pupils, this text considers human and physical geography through an emphasis on environment, population and development. The course is presented in a series of books written to meet the demands of the new O-Level syllabus. It is pupil-centred, with numerous exercises to stimulate learning and thinking. Through these exercises pupils will develop the skills of observation, recording, drawing, field sketching and map reading. There is a "Teacher's Handbook" available to accompany "Student's Book 1".
