One of a set of four History resources for CCEA Key Stage 3, 'The Twentieth Century' is offered as an alternative for the final year study providing a detailed study of key themes over the past one hundred years. It covers topics such as: Childhood; Medicine; Ireland from 1900 to 1914; Ireland from the outbreak of war; Transport; The First World War.

The four titles in the History in Close-Up Series give students a comprehensive understanding of the key themes that form the history of their part of the world. 'The Medieval World' covers the period to approximately 1500, 'The Age of Discovery' covers the period 1500 to 1800 and 'Union and Partition' includes 1800 to the present day.
