Few careers are considered more difficult than those in the performing arts, but for those who know where to find them the industry offers scores of attainable, well-paying and rewarding jobs. This guide has been written and designed to serve as a useful source of information for anyone wishing to chart a career in the industry - either in front of the footlights or behind the scenes. It covers a total of 70 different careers - from the more traditional sorts of careers such as actor, singer, comedian, dancer, choreographer, producer or director, to the myriad of no less interesting, but often hidden opportunities, including drama coach, sound person, stage manager, casting director, box office treasurer, make-up artist, orchestra manager, usher and music therapist. Each job description consists of two parts: information in chart form and narrative text.
