Star Stories is an innovative outcomes-based reading instruction programme that teaches young learners to become competent and indepedent readers. It consists of a range of exciting and colourful storybooks, a Workbook and a Teacher's Book. Star Stories has already proven a great success in creating an enthusiasm for reading among thousands of learners around the country. There are 20 children's information and storybooks within Star Stories for Grade 3 which are graded into 4 levels of difficulty. The books have been written by a variety of South African authors and are all in full colour. Provides information on how children learn to read and on how to teach reading. Links the series to the overall Literacy Programme of Curriculum 2005. Offers practical ideas and material for using continuous assessment. Provides information on all the storybooks and on the Workbook. Contains 4 assessment schedules that can be photocopied.
