Isisekelo Solimi is an isiZulu first language Literacy course for the Foundation Phase. It consists of a Learner's book, Teacher's Guide, Workbook and Reader. The course has been trialled by teams of experienced teachers in rural and urban schools and meets all requirements of the Revised National curriculum Statement. The course is designed for outcomes-based education and puts emphasis on language skills such as listening, writing, speaking, reading and viewing. Activities are based on learning outcomes and their respective assessment standards. The course provides guidance on various forms of assessments and classroom preparations.
