Successful learners regulate their learning behaviour. They are strategic in their approach to learning. They prepare, experiment, monitor, adapt and reflect. The book is structured around 5 basic questions that are central to self regulated learning. These are: - Where do I learn best? - What are my strengths? - How do I improve? - How will I persevere? - How will I know when I have improved? The cards are a set of questions relating to learning strategies. They may be used to scaffold discussions about the use of learning strategies. These are an important resource for facilitators, since self explanation stands out in the literature as a particularly effective way for students to learn. The CD-ROM provides an interactive approach to setting learning goals. It may be used by students independently, or it may be used as a teaching aid, being directed from a smart board. This resource has three components; a book, a set of cards and a CD rom.
