This book is specially designed to provide guidance for students in physics leading to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) and the GCE ordinary level examinations. The book is essentially designed to meet the requirements of the senior secondary school syllabus in physics. The essential features of the book are as follows: it corresponds closely to the order in which the teaching syllabus for the senior secondary school physics course has been organized; each chapter begins with a list of learning objectives which tell the student what goals are expected to be achieved; the language level and depth in the text reflect the year group for which the text is written; the introductory chapter gives the student guidance in carrying out practical activities in physics as well as career prospects for the physicist; the text is illustrated with photographs and large, well-labelled diagrams and the salient ideas and points are either boxed or bulleted with appropriate safety symbols.
