Michaela, or Mickey as her friends call her, is a teenager who lives with her gran. Her grandmother's heart attach is the start of a much greater drama in Mickey's life: her quest to find out about her father. All that she knows about him is that he was killed in a car crash with her mother when Mickey was just a two-year-old. Bit by bit Mickey fits together the pieces of the puzzle of her life: from the mysterious chant 'Going to see Ally' that she hers in her recurring nightmare about the accident, to the photography that she discovers in an old suitcase, to her meeting with an old friend of her mother and the dedication in the book that she has written. Along the way Mickey also discovers what it's like to be in love, and this makes things even more complicated.
