This is a primary language and reading series for Setswana first language Std 2 pupils. Using a child-centred, whole-language approach, it aims to develop cross-curricular knowledge and skills, and is written to develop a positive attitude to the home-language and culture. It consists of: pupils' textbooks covering the language syllabus; illustrated supplementary readers; and teachers' books giving guidelines for teachers working with the "Maru a Pula" course. This teachers' resource book gives a comprehensive introduction to modern language-teaching methods, and shows teachers how plan the year and organise their classes. It guides teachers through all activities in the Std 2 pupils' book and supplies tests for each unit.
