A warm humorous story, enchanting colour illustrations and carefully controlled bilingual text with lots of repetition. It also ends with a short picture dictionary to highlight the key words in the new language.

I wanted a book to help the children have fun while also learning French and a friend recommended this book to us. It's the story of a family cooking a surprise meal for their mother. On each page is a sentence in English and also in French. At the end of the story are the French words of things in the story. As a added bonus they also tell you how to prounounce the words. The children like reading these books in French and in English. Would recommend!
