Is there a recipe for happiness? Meg certainly thinks so. She collects all the necessary ingredients in a jar, which she uses to cheer up her friends and family when they're feeling low.

But what happens when her special jar mysteriously disappears? Will Meg feel sad forever more, or will she find other ways to be happy?

This is a wonderful hug of a story.  It describes a little girl who has a jar of happiness and then loses it. Her friends and family make her feel better by the things they do. We've read it over and over, especially if one of us has felt a little upset during the day.

I really enjoyed this book, it made me feel happy! The front cover is smiley and bright and it has a cute cat too (I love cats!) The book is about emotions and I like that the girl (Meg) found happiness in other ways without her jar. My friends would love this book!

This book is completely and utterly gorgeous! From the front cover to the end; the story is simple but meaningful and heart-warming and the illustrations are adorable. When I saw the cover of this book it had a lot to live up to in my expectations, and it did just that. I really love to read my children books that they enjoy listening to, can appreciate the beautiful illustrations but, also have a lesson to learn and meaning to them. This book fits all of those boxes. This would make a lovely Christmas present for a child aged between 1 and 4, in my opinion, although I know my 5 year old will enjoy it too.

Meg has a special recipe, a recipe for happiness. She fills a little jar with all sorts of happy things & takes it with her wherever she goes, using it to cheer her family & friends up along the way. But one day, the jar is nowhere to be found. Poor Meg searches high & low (ably assisted by her delightful little cat), but it is nowhere to be found. Meg thinks that without her jar, she'll be sad. Luckily, one by one, the people who Meg cheered up, show her that she doesn't need her jar to be happy, that happiness is all around us when we're surrounded by friends & family. Meg doesn't find her jar, but the reader will see it if they look closely at the illustrations ;) This really is a delightful & happy little book with a beautiful message about happiness. The illustrations are perfect - gentle yet detailed. I'll be sneaking this book off my little one's bookshelf next week and using it with my class in our PSHE lesson. We're going to be filling our own 'jars' with happy thoughts, smells, tastes & sounds :)

I loved this book, it made me happy to read and showed me how little things can make me happy every day. I have made my own jar  of happiness and I use it every day.  I love the pictures and they made me smile.   My dad read this book to me and said he loved it. He said it was really sweet and didn't focus on material goods making us happy but simple everyday things. He said it was a reassuring book for children.

A lovely book dealing with how happiness and the joy brought by friends and family. Daughter loved the book which was easy to follow for her and opened us to a lovely chat about happiness. Fab bedtime book which helped settle my daughter for sleep. The illustrations were sweet and comical. We particularly loved the cat on every page (a big hit with my daughter).
