Meet Jonny Jakes, undercover reporter for banned school newspaper The Woodford Word. Nothing will stop his pursuit of the truth. Not teachers. Not parents. Not double detention. When a new head teacher arrives halfway through term, Jonny smells a rat. Teachers handing out sweets? All-you-can-eat hamburgers? He's determined to get to the bottom of it, because Jonny Jakes investigates the same way he eats his hamburgers: with relish.

Jonny Jakes (not his real name) is an undercover reporter for the newspaper at his school that got banned. His school has a new headteacher, who seems really nice; handing out sweets, feeding them hamburgers at lunch. Jonny isn't buying it, so he sets out to investigate , to get to the bottom of it.  I really enjoyed this book, it was so funny. Jonny was a very likeable character, and I liked that the book was in the style of a journal. The book was exciting and I really liked the sketches used in the book. The book had my attention from start to finish

I enjoyed this book as it was a diary format and that is the books I like, and I liked that he had a secret school newspaper that had been banned. I liked reading the parts that were like out of a newspaper or notes. thank you for giving me this book in a toppsta giveaway

Highly recommend this book to all those who enjoy Diary of a Wimpy Kid.  Its written in a very similar style.  The way it is laid out makes its very easy read and it contains lots images throuh out.

Jonny Jakes is a reporter for an unofficial school newspaper.  The teachers hate it and have no idea who is behind it.  When a new headteacher is brought in, everyone seems to fall under his spell.  But luckily there are a few left behind to help Jonny find out the truth and how to defeat the Ailen invasion!  Can they save the school and all of their parents?

My boys loved this book and it is very popular in the school library among the KS3 boys.
