Wendy's father, who died in 1975 in his mid-nineties, was a journalist. Aware she had inherited some of his journalistic genes, Wendy soon put this into practice writing four books: including 'Growing a Caring Church' in 2010; and in 2023 'My Journey: Pre-War to Post-Covid'.VE Day 8th May 2025, when the 80th anniversary celebrations were taking place, Wendy realised that very few had even been born on VE Day 1945 and, if they had, would have been too young to recall much, or anything, about it. It was then she felt compelled to write 'World War 2 as seen through the eyes and experiences of an 8 to14 year old'. It's a history book written for 9 or 10-year-olds and young adolescents to read. However, she had also in mind future generations.Memories, emotions and experiences gradually unfold as Wendy writes about those six years of war from 1939-1945, as seen through the eyes of a youngster emerging from her childhood.
