This is a book of children's stories, which vary from surprise to fantasy. The story of Mrs Farmer and the mouse is a witty little tale, followed by Elizabeth and her New friend, when Elizabeth feels that her mother does not understand her, only to become friends as she grows. The Squire's white horse is very poignant as the ugly old man gets blamed, and yet he has done no wrong. Later, he is welcomed by the Squire and thanked for saving his life and introduced to all those who were at a party that the Squire was having to thank all the villagers.Johnny's operation on his leg and the dreams he had whilst under anaesthetic, where he believed he'd been to mouse's home and met his Family, only for the mouse to inform him that he wasn't married and lived on the ward.Tiny Shell and Seaweed is story, quite out of this world and it is the sea and caves that is their wonder. They become friends and go everywhere together. The coronation of Fairy Harebell is a total fantasy. This tiny Queen, who loves everyone including Mr Fox, is a life that many believe they live, especially if they live in the country, with all the birds and animals of Fairy Foxglove Glen keeping them company.
